Things are Happening!

Over the past couple of weeks we have seen crazy and amazing things. God has been working through so much in my own life and is beginning to show me who I am in Him. We have really begun to be very active in the words that we got while we were praying in Kona. While I was in Kona I got the name Mellsop in prayer and it turns out she was the leader of Unicef Nepal. So myself and 3 other teammates: Sarah, Scott and Chris, went out in the city to find her. We went to the Unicef building and they told us that Gillian left a couple months ago and is not coming back. So we got to talk to another leader in Unicef who led us to a woman who gave us a ton of contacts for restoration homes and the possibility to get involved. We were all very encouraged with that but did not really use those contacts. After that, the next couple of days was different ministry, we went to a slum and did follow-ups from the time before. We sat down with this man who has a broken collarbone, who some of the team was with last time and he let us pray for healing for him and we got to give him a bible. I guess the last time the team was in his home he was not open to anything they had to say so there was definitely breakthrough in that. God was totally using us. Another sweet surprise from the slum was a dog. Some of our team was talking to a Christian family and the family gave them a free puppy who is absolutely adorable his name is Rakhi (Rocky), after the slum that he came from. the plan was to keep him and then when Chris's parents left to go back to America then Rakhi would go with them but plans changed. We only had the dog for 2 days because he cried all night long and peed on everything. So Chris and Scott took them back to the slum and explained to the family why we could not keep him. They understood and took him back but it was a fun little adventure for a couple of days. The day after the slums we went to a Nepali church with a man that we met on the bus and they asked us to speak and do a little bit of worship. I got to share why we are in Nepal and encourage the church, Chris led us out in worship and then after they did their worship and their service. It was awesome watching them worship they are so free and so passionate about what God wants to do and even though I did not understand the service at all it was amazing and the 4 hours flew by. There is also another YWAM team in Nepal right now who is based in Germany that we met for dinner and went to worship with at Joel and Tammy's and they were honestly awesome and so after God's heart. They asked us if they could come with us when we go into Thamel and do sex trafficking ministry.  So we are all excited to get involved in that with them. Wednesday November 9th is when we decided it was time to take action and go into Thamel, the red light district of Nepal, and go into the dance bars and on the street and try to talk to the woman and men there. We split into groups of 3 or 4 and went out to do whatever we felt the Lord was saying to do. My team was Chris, Amy and Nelson and we walked around the streets all night and met people there and got to talk about Jesus to them. The first encounter we had was with a drunk guy trying to sell Chris weed and it turned into him accepting the Lord. Nelson got his number also so that he could see if the guy still wanted to Lord even when he wasn't drunk. Second encounter was with a homeless man who we bought water and got to pray for and gave him a bible. He was not super receptive to what we had to say but he did take the bible at least. Next we met some street kids, ages 12 and 15, who we bought dinner for and got to talk with a little bit. They were not the average street kids they worked from 6pm to 1am everyday so that they could have money for their families rent and food. We bought them food and they both got chicken and saved a piece each so they could bring them back to their friends to eat. It was really cool to see street kids that care for one another. The 12 year old accepted Jesus after dinner after Nelson was done talking to him. It was really cool and that prayer led a police officer over to us. He told us that he watches out for those boys and that they are really good boys. Then he asked why we were here and we got to share why and also got to share Jesus. It was awesome even though he did not come to the Lord we got his contact info and he wants to meet up and talk more. Who knows what will happen with that. Another team actually went into a dance bar and said that the girls in there look so sad and emotionless. The team sat down and a man brought a girl over by the neck and her name was Baby and is 18 years old. They said that when she sat down she was emotionless and not happy and when she realized they didn't want anything form her she opened up and told one of my team mates Sarah Wenz that she was he new best friend. They got each others number and texted all the next day and are meeting for lunch to talk more. We really want a way to get her out of this awful business where people treat her like she is nothing and we want to show her that she has a crazy amount of worth and she is a daughter of Jesus. We want to show a lot of love to those girls and show that they are not alone and can find another way to live and are not stuck in this life. Our team got news yesterday that we are splitting up and some are going into another country and some are staying behind and working with sex trafficking. I am part of the sex trafficking team and we are about to get very involved and hopefully get some girls out of those bars and into restoration homes. God is totally moving and put this on our hearts for a reason. Our mission is to be obedient and show the men and women in this industry that the have value and a purpose and they can get out of this awful industry. God has been moving so much and speaking so much and is preparing us for something so much bigger than we can even imagine.
